Breast Reduction

Why Consider a Breast Reduction? Some women with large breasts find that over time this may lead to discomfort in the back, and other areas of their body. Consider a Breast Reduction if you would like to decrease breast size and reshape the breasts to create a more pleasing bust line.

Breast Reduction Method: Excess tissue is removed through an incision around the areola and down to and along the crease under the breast.
The nipple is repositioned and breast tissue is contoured around it.
Procedure is performed under general anesthesia.

Recovery from a Breast Reduction: There is a one day hospital stay.

Patients can expect:

  • Sutures removed in 1-2 weeks
  • Bruising and swelling for 2 weeks
  • Stretching and reaching limited for 1 month
  • Normal exercise after that point
  • Scarring usually hidden by bra

Experience: With over 2,300 successful breast reductions, we are among greater Boston's most experienced providers of breast reductions.
