Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion Goal: A Dermabrasion smoothes the skin, minimizing and in most cases, completely removing scarring left by acne, other skin irregularities, or an accident.

Dermabrasion Method: Outer layers of skin are removed with a deep sanding technique using an instrument with a rough wire brush or diamond-impregnated burr.
We use a local or general anesthesia.

Recovery from Dermabrasion: You will be able to return home the same day.

Please be aware of the following:

  • You will wear a dressing for 3-7 days
  • Skin will be red for 2 months
  • No sun exposure for 1 month
  • Use sun screen with SPF 30 or higher after that.
  • Makeup can be worn only after skin is fully healed

Experience: With over 400 successful Dermabrasion procedures, The Adams Center is one of Boston's premier Dermabrasion providers.
