Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

What is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)?
IPL is a FDA-approved, minimally invasive procedure that can be used to treat skin conditions for all skin types including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Age spots
  • Sun damage
  • Acne scarring
  • Symptoms of Rosacea
  • Birthmarks
  • Unsightly veins
  • Unwanted hair

How does IPL work?
IPL works by delivering light to the skin surface (photorejuvenation) in precise pulses. IPL is most often (but can be used elsewhere) used to treat the following areas of the body:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest
  • Hands

On average, four to six treatments are recommended, scheduled at three-week intervals. Each session usually lasts about 30 minutes.

How long is recovery?
While other treatments may be effective, IPL offers the advantages of:

  • No or low downtime
  • Minimal to mild redness in the treated area
  • Return to normal activity immediately following treatment
  • Long-lasting results

Contact us to schedule a consultation with one of our medical aestheticians to see if IPL is right for you.
