Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution into several points along the vein. The lining of the veins react to the solution and begin the process of break down the vein walls. Post-treatment compression is usually necessary to continue this process of breaking down the vein walls. Over time, the veins gradually disappear as the veins are absorbed back into the body resulting in a more even, youthful appearance. Please note, results are not immediate and it can take several weeks following treatment for full results to be seen. More than one treatment may be necessary for complete spider vein removal.

This is a non-surgical procedure that can be done in office. However, please keep in mind you must wear supportive stockings post treatment for about two weeks. Treated areas should be protected from the sun during this period as well. Some bruising and brown pigmentation may also occur in the treated areas during this recovery period.
