Q&A With Dr. Adams About Breast Augmentation

February 6th, 2014

Dr. Adams answers some common questions about Breast Augmentation.  Please note that the best way to get all of your questions answered is to call our office at (800) 559-3056 to schedule a consultation.

When can I begin exercising after a Breast Augmentation?

Light walking is okay immediately following surgery.  I recommend waiting 2 weeks before running and vigorous exercise.

Is breast feeding possible after Breast Augmentation?

Breast implants have no impact on breast feeding.

Can you do a breast lift and a breast augmentation at the same time?

Yes, this is very common.

What types of gel implants are available?

Silicone gel implants come in many different shapes and sizes.  You also have the option of choosing textured or smooth gel implants.

What is the different between textured and smooth implants?

The textured has a surface that keeps the implant in a certain position; this is important in shaped implants that require a fixed position for the best result. I don’t use textured implants very often as they tend to have more rippling.

What type of breast implant should I choose: saline or gel?

We discuss this a consultation. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. You may be happy with either one.

How long do I have to wear the surgical bra post-op?  How long do I need to wait before I start wearing regular bras?
