We can officially begin providing our breast augmentation patients with the option to use silicone gel-filled breast implants (sometimes referred to as "gummy bear implants").

On Nov. 17, 2006 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Allergan's INAMED® Silicone-Filled Breast Implants for use in breast augmentation, reconstruction and revision surgery for women who are 22 years old or older. The approval is a significant development for women in the United States who now have the same options that women in more than 60 countries have had for the last 25 years.

We have been a part of the Silicone Gel implant clinical studies for the past eight years, and have seen first-hand that silicone gel-filled breast implants are a safe option for women seeking breast implant surgery.

These are not the same silicone breast implants of 15 years ago . . .
