How Buying Medical Grade Products Can Help You Save Money and Get Results - November 9, 2011

Adams MD Spadermaceutical Zit Kit

When it comes to selecting proper skin care products, many people find themselves lost in a world bombarded with designer brands and marketing ploys.

It makes sense.  The more you spend, the better the result, right?

Since Dior and Chanel can create stunning silhouettes and perfectly tailored suites, they must be able to formulate an age defying wrinkle crème, no?

But then again, these fashion houses did not set out to become the leading skin care experts in the field.  Designer brands have become all too eager to put their names on anything that might sell – whether it be low quality clothing, perfume – or high end skin care.  However, what are you really paying for — expensive packaging and a designer name or a quality product?

For over 30 years, I have offered medical aesthetician services and doctor recommended skin care products at my offices.  I believe that medical grade products will give you the best results at the lowest cost.  A medical office is far more qualified to give you skin care recommendations than the sales woman working behind the counter at Bloomingdales.

In a tough economy, we all take a closer look at how our money is being spent.  For most of us, our personal appearance is of utmost concern.  I urge you to book a complimentary consultation with one of our medical aestheticians on staff.  We will design a customized skin care regime that will produce noticeable results.

Instead of spending $600 on moisturizer from Dior, save your money for those designer heels and come see us when it comes to skin care.

Visit our online store to view the Adams MD product line or contact the office today to schedule an appointment.

Boston Plastic Surgeon Specializes in Breast Augmentation, Having Performed Over 1000 Successful Surgeries - October 19, 2011

Boston, MA, October 17, 2011: Dr. William P. Adams, M.D., F.A.C.S., a board certified cosmetic surgeon and Director of The Adams Center is the leading expert for breast augmentation, having performed over 1000 successful breast enhancement surgeries.  Also known as Breast Enlargement, or Breast Enhancement, Dr. Adams uses a variety of breast implants including saline breast implants and silicone breast implants designed to fit the needs of each individual patient.

The Boston based plastic surgeon believes, “Beauty is subjective. Many of our patients say that a breast augmentation has helped improve their self confidence levels, and overall happiness about their bodies.  When people feel great about how they look, that shows in everything they do.”

The Adams Center provides the comfort and convenience of its own AAAASF accredited, state-of-the-art surgical center located in our Peabody office. This gives patients a greater level of comfort, care, convenience, and privacy than is possible in a hospital setting. However, Dr. Adams also maintains privileges at a local area hospital.  The Adams Center also offers concierge services for out of town patients that include local hotel accommodations and a private nurse to escort you to and from the hospital.

When considering plastic surgery, it is imperative for a potential patient to carefully evaluate surgeon qualifications, credentials, and experience.  The ASAPS recently launched their White Coat Deception Campaign urging the public to carefully investigate their cosmetic surgeon’s credentials and background.

What many consumers don’t know is that any medical doctor can actually perform plastic surgery, says Dr. Adams. “It’s important to evaluate your surgeon, and the facility where your surgery will be performed.  We have our own AAAASF [American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities] approved surgical center. The approval process is incredibly thorough. Not only is our operating room itself inspected, our staff’s credentials are evaluated and vetted, and all of our equipment is checked to make sure it’s ready, and up to date with the highest standards in care.”

About The Adams Center
With over 28 years of experience, The Adams Center has helped thousands of people improve their appearance and enhance their self esteem. Do Your Hands Give Away Your Age? - August 2, 2011

Radiesse used to decrease signs of aging on the hands

Most of us tend to focus on reversing the signs of aging on our faces – but did you know that some of the same treatments used on the face can be used on other skin areas – like the hands?  It is quite possible to tell a person’s age by looking at their hands – even if they have taken measures to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face.  Peels used to get rid of red spots, brown spots, and other skin discolorations can be used on the hands and other skin areas like the chest and neck.  Radiesse injections can help restore volume and fullness in the hands.  Here are some of my favorite treatments to help improve the appearance of aging hands.

Deep FX

An incredible, newly developed laser treatment made by leading laser manufacturer Lumenis, has created the “gold standard” for non-surgical treatment of deep wrinkles, scarring, and more.  The Deep FX laser helps stimulate collagen repair and removes red and brown spots.  DeepFX uses a thin, focused laser beam, allowing it to penetrate more deeply than most other lasers. Along with the depth of penetration, the DeepFX system’s deep heating stimulates immediate collagen contraction, and long-term collagen remodeling creating a one/two punch perfect for deeper scars and wrinkle treatment. Downtime is a remarkable 2 — 3 days, and a single session is often all that’s needed (while 5 — 6 treatments may be necessary with other laser systems). Treatment can be accomplished in 60 minutes or less.

Radiesse

Radiesse injections bring volume to the back of the hands to re-plump and restore a youthful appearance. Injected beneath the skin, Radiesse elevates the skin level so that tendons, joints and veins lose their definition and prominence. Radiesse provides instant results that last for several months.

Because Radiesse provides a scaffolding for collagen-building, the body’s own collagen interweaving into this structure keeps the skin feeling softly natural and smooth.

Radiesse in many ways acts as scaffolding does on a building.  It provides a structure which helps support the building of collagen – helping the skin to feel natural and smooth.

3. Use Products Containing Glycolic Acid

Glycolic Acid is found in many anti-wrinkle and anti aging skin care products but many people do not think to use these products on their hands as well as their face.  Products containing glycolic acid help to even out skin tone and stimulate collagen production.  Several Adams MD products to try:

Products of the Month – 15% off! - July 27, 2011

We are beginning a new Product of Month program in which we will educate you on a couple of our favorite products that are particularly suited to the season.  This month we are offering 15% off our Clarifying Moisturizer and Replenishing Sunblock.  Read on to learn more!

Clarifying Moisturizer

This is the ideal moisturizer for the hot and humid days that are upon us.  It is oil free and contains .5% salicylic acid to exfoliate skin and minimize oiliness.  It is great for acne prone skin and also helps improve skin texture.

Recommended: Balanced hydration and improved texture

Daily Use: AM/PM

Rebalance vital hydration with this silky lotion.  Infused with 0.5% Salicylic Acid, this oil-free moisturizer is an important step in the maintenance of healthy skin.

How to Use: Apply evenly to cleansed skin, twice daily.

Daily Replenishing Sunblock SPF 36

This sunblock is sweat proof, water proof, and is formulated to protect your skin from the sun and repair past skin damage.  The sunscreen is SPF 36 but uses transparent zinc oxide so you don’t get a pasty white appearance on the skin.  The formula includes peptides to help stimulate collagen and elastin production as well as beta-keratin, an exceptional anti-oxidant.  The product absorbs quickly and leaves a “matte glow” on the face.  Although the product is pink in color, it does not provide make-up coverage.

Recommended: Protect skin from sun damage and repair past damage

Daily Use: AM or as needed before sun exposure

Delay premature aging with this state-of-the-art formula with Micronized Titanium and exclusive botanicals that help prevent the breakdown of collagen and elastin.  Ideal for daily facial wear and can be used around eyes.

How to Use: Apply to entire face after normal skin care routine and before make-up.
