Wearing Sunblock Can Help Prevent Wrinkles and Age Spots - April 18, 2012

One of the best measures you can take to prevent wrinkles is to apply a good sunblock every morning before you leave the house. Many are unaware there is a difference between sunblock and sunscreen. Sunblock protects the skin from UVA and UVB radiation by reflecting the sun’s rays before they are able to reach and damage your skin. A sunscreen sits on top of the skin and absorbs the sun’s rays before they can damage the skin. I personally prefer sunblocks since they stay on the skin better than most sunscreens and are especially good for those with an active lifestyle.

After the long New England winter I’m sure many of you are looking forward to spending more time outdoors. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to have a good sunblock or sunscreen. Get your family members in the habit of applying sunblock before leaving the house. Protecting your skin now will slow down the aging process, helping prevent wrinkles and pigmentation issues. Most importantly, you’ll be protecting yourself from skin cancer.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a sunscreen or sunblock with an SPF of 30 or higher.  Here are my favorite sunblocks available for purchase at either office or in our online store here.

A Patient Says Thank You To Dr. Adams and The Adams Center Staff - March 14, 2012

May Monthly Specials
“I just wanted to say that it was nice to meet you and thank you for being so great. I must say that the whole team has made this experience phenomenal. I was so scared and worried going in (that’s just me, no fault of anyone there) and all of you made me feel so much better. I am pleasantly surprised by how good I feel, the pain is very tolerable with the medication and I don’t think I will need it much longer. If I could have predicted this kind of outcome, I wouldn’t have been scared at all. Dr. Adams spoke with my husband while I was in recovery and my husband and I agree that he is the most personable doctor we’ve ever met. I can understand why you trust him so much. We are so happy that we chose The Adams Center for our procedure. ”

Know What To Expect The First Time You Have Botox – Watch These Informational Videos! - February 21, 2012

In this series of videos Adams Center Ambassador Teri has Botox injections as part of her Non Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Program. Thus far Teri has had a Vi Peel (chemical peel) and has been using medical grade Adams Center skin care products.

Teri has had Botox in the past and she said that this treatment went “as expected”. Following the procedure, she commented that the injections were not painful given the small size of the needle. Teri commented afterwards that her anticipation and fear of needles were the only negative aspects of the treatment. She was able to go about the rest of her day as usual and had minimal bruising from the Botox injections. The two small bruises she did have were easily covered up with make-up and disappeared within a couple of days.

About a week following treatment I asked Teri if she was satisfied with the results of her Botox treatment and this is what she had to say:

“By day 2 I really noticed a significant difference primarily on my forehead. I am eager to see how long the treatment is effective. I would definitely continue the use of botox given the results I have seen thus far!”

A Message From Our Adams Center Ambassador Terri - January 6, 2012

I am a 49 year old mother of two. I am a Lecturer at Harvard University’s Extension School and an independent IT consultant.
My biggest concerns about my face include the fine lines and wrinkles that have crept up around my eyes and mouth as well as the brown spots on my face and neck due to sun damage.
I’ve watched the tremendous advances in high tech anti-aging procedures over the past few years and am eager to be Dr. Adams’ first ambassador! While an ambassador I look forward to educating myself about the procedures to reverse the aging process and experiencing the various non-surgical treatments available.
I hope to rejuvenate my appearance and share my experiences and results with others.
