Dr. Bill Adams was named the North Shore YMCA's 2005 Volunteer of the Year for his leadership in fund raising of the $7.6 million for the Marlborough-Swampscott YMCA "Y It's Time" capital campaign.
Achievements under Adams' leadership include obtaining 19.5 acres of land, collaborating with the Boston Ballet, and receiving the Kresge Foundation Challenge Grant of $750,000. Adams co-chairs the "Y It's Time" capital campaign with his wife Carol Adams, and longtime friends Peter and Carolyn Lynch, and Eyk and Rose-Marie Van Otterloo.
Adams has also served 10 years on the Marblehead-Swampscott YMCA board, including two years as board president.
